wedding stuff: saturday or sunday

hello loves!! im in melbourne now having a toasty christmas!! taking a small break from blogging but will catch up with japan trip soonish!! :) :) hope everyone has a lovely time, a sweet-smelling tree and heaps of love and hugs to go around!! *muahh* i can't wait for 2010!

one of the biggest things im looking forward to excitedly is our wedding! and we just viewed EIGHT venues in 3 days! woah wedding craziness!!! good news is, we've got the whole interviewing process down to a T! we have our little questionnaire with ALL possible questions. very no-nonsense and bam-wam-thank-you-maam and we're out! our last site visit lasted only 20 mins!! good job, team!

we've narrowed down to our last two favorites. both have character, have excellent reviews and we love very very much!! so good luck to us man!! we're spending christmas laying out a spreadsheet to help us decide..

OOOoooookay. need some help!! thing is... one venue is only available on a sunday which i have a thing about! in my practical mind, wedding guests will be lining up to leave at 9pm. but my experience is of course limited by my singaporean pragmatism. so i have two questions!!

1) will you, personally, leave the party earlier on a sunday?
2) will you drink or party less cos you have to work the next day?

** based on the fact that 50% of the guests are from out of town (ie no work next day), and are close friends. there would be dancing and drinking. latest end time is probably 1pm anyway. no clubbing, strobe lights and getting miserably trashed.

drop me a note! ;) joyeux noel! :)

judy weds! :)

they had their church wedding a while before but their korean ceremony was held in the evening following by a dinner reception. the venue was quite far from out hotel and everyone recommended taking the train due to traffic!! but i realized there was no way i could have made it in my skimpy cocktail dress in the subway. so i had to (very unglamourously) layer my dinner dress with my PAJAMAS!!! daniel was just ok in his dinner suit and his regular dinner coat. so unfair.. needless to say, we got many stares and giggles in the train. haiyar.. need to work on my winter wardrobe a little. it doesn't really cover the basics!!

we made it in the nick of time and caught the bride before the ceremony in her waiting room! :)

yoomee, judy and me..

aww.. just looking at this picture makes me tear up..

on the day before the wedding, we did any self-respecting bridesmaid (and bride) would do.. *ahem*

gorge ourselves silly with yummy american style breakfast at butterfingers!!

OH MAN! i've missed fluffy pancakes, sausages, waffles and all that good american calories!! the portions at butterfingers were amazing!! and the place is well-lit and styled just like an american diner with cushy seats and bright colours. felt like we were back in the burg at crackel barrel or something!! the best meal is really breakfast!!

gosh! and these girls are the most fabulous company. they totally make my shoe obsession seem A-ok! and we decided that we'd all have to get our asses to NYC, where yoomee lives, her sample sale stories were too crazy to resist! ah!!

did i also mention? in times like that, im really sore i don't have a sister.

goofing around with our salads.

and our unsuspecting chaperone was kept occupied with judy's snazzy digital camera, an messy all-american burger and refillable cokes all afternoon. seriously, he looked like he died and went to cola heaven.

and then we hit the cutest nail salon to get wedding-ready! super girly-overdose...

judy decided for us she wanted "gradation" on our nails. and they used this really cool spray on our hands. its icy cold when applied and had this crackley sound when rubbed in. it doesn't hurt at all but it exfoliates dead skin like you've never seen before!! amazing!! i should check out if they have that in singapore!!

and check out the manicurists!! they're so pretty, right!!

pleased with her classic french manicure with special nail art on her 4th finger, where lucas will be slipping on the ring.. aww.. so sweet!

and multicoloured polka dots on her pinkies! haha..

then we let the girls go home and get ready for the wedding while we hit the stores for midnight shopping at DDM! :)

oh! the #4 reason why we love korea...

korean BBQ!

we found a favorite restaurant, made judy write down our usual order entirely in korean and kept revisiting the same place for the same dishes. needless to say, we are not very experimental when it comes to food. and the staff took SUPER good care of us each time. it was there i swore my undying love for kimchi chigae.

after the best friend taught me how to make it. i ate it for a week.

talking about food, im awfully ill today. some stomach bug i suspect. i only managed a little bowl of clear chicken noodle soup (no noodle, no chicken.) and got sent to bed for the day with boston legal. i guess i'd have to give modern contemporary dance class a miss this evening. im looking every bit the starved artist off the street with sunken eye sockets and extra dark eye rings..
